Comments
When you leave a comment on our site, the data entered in the comment form, your IP address, and your browser’s user agent are collected to help detect unwanted comments.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture will be publicly visible next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the site, we advise you to avoid uploading images that contain GPS location data (EXIF). Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from these images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so that you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie will be created to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, several cookies will be set up to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data. It simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Use of Personal Data for Communications
We may use the personal data you provide (such as your name and email address) to send you personalized emails and updates about our latest news, services, or training programs. These communications may include information we believe is relevant to your interests.
You will receive these emails only if you have given your explicit consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included in our emails or by contacting us directly.
We do not share your email address or personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes without your consent.
Data retention periods
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Your rights over your data
If you have an account or have left comments on the site, you can request to receive a file containing all the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request the deletion of your personal data. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

This section supplements the present policy and describes the data processed when you use our mobile application Paper Academy Glossary, available on the App Store and on Google Play.

Data you provide
When you first open the app, a form asks for your first and last name, your email address, and optionally your company and job title. You must also agree to the use of this data.
This information is sent to our servers and a user identifier is assigned to you. That identifier is stored on your device and associated with the data described below. No account is created and no password is ever requested.
Purposes: granting access to the app, measuring its usage, and informing you about our training courses. Legal basis: your consent, collected when you submit the form.
Data collected automatically
Device characteristics, sent together with the form: platform, operating system and version, manufacturer and model, app version, language and browser identifier (user agent). This is used for technical support and to measure the distribution of devices. The app collects no advertising identifier and no unique device identifier.
Definition views. Each time you open a definition, the app sends our servers the term identifier, the term viewed, the display language and your user identifier, in order to improve the glossary content and measure its usage.
Advertising
The app displays banner and full-screen advertisements. These may promote Paper Academy training courses, or the products and services of partner companies. They are served from our own servers: no third-party advertising network is integrated into the app, and no data about you is transmitted to advertisers. Ad requests contain your user identifier, the language, the location within the app and, where applicable, the term being viewed; clicks are counted by our servers.
This data is never combined with data from third parties, nor sold to a data broker. The app performs no advertising tracking.
Data that stays on your device
The glossary content downloaded for offline use, your favourites, your viewing history, your searches, your chosen language and your display preferences are never sent to us. Searches you perform run locally and never leave your device.
Hosting
App data is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, rue Eugène-Marziano 25, 1227 Geneva, Switzerland. Switzerland is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission. Your data is neither sold nor transferred to third parties for commercial purposes.
Retention
Your registration details, and the usage statistics linked to your identifier, are kept for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, and until you request their deletion. You may exercise that right at any time and without justification, by following the procedure on the Data deletion page. Our server technical logs are purged automatically after 30 days.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
To delete your data, follow the procedure described on the Data deletion page. For any other request, write to contact@paper-academy.com.
You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
Security
All exchanges between the app and our servers are encrypted using HTTPS.
Minors
The app is intended for professionals and students in the paper industry. It is not intended for people under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
