Paper Academy Glossary – Data Deletion

The app has no user account or password. Your data is linked to the email address you entered in the form displayed the first time you opened the app. This is therefore the address used to identify your request.

How to request deletion

Send an email to contact@paper-academy.com with:

– subject: Deletion of my data — Paper Academy Glossary

– in the body of the message: the email address you entered in the app.

No supporting documents are required. If the email address you use to write to us is the one entered in the app, your request is processed directly. Otherwise, we may ask you to confirm from the address concerned, to prevent a third party from having your data deleted.

You can also write to us by post at:
IBC Paper Training
3 RUE DE LA 3EME D.I.A. ET DU 2EME R.S
88400, GERARDMER, FRANCE

Processing time

Your request is processed within a maximum of 30 days of receipt. You will receive an email confirmation once the deletion has been completed.

Data deleted

At your request, we delete the following from our servers:

– your registration information: first name, last name, email address, company and job title;

– the technical information sent with this form: platform, operating system and version, device manufacturer and model, app version, language and browser identifier (user agent);

– your user ID and the definition lookup history linked to it;

– the ad impression and click statistics linked to this ID.

Data retained

Anonymised statistics. Definition lookups and audience measurements detached from your ID can no longer be used to identify you; they are kept in aggregated form to monitor use of the glossary.

Our servers’ technical logs, which are automatically purged after 30 days.

Data stored on your device

The following items are stored only on your device and are never sent to us: the glossary content downloaded for offline use, your favourites, your local lookup history, the selected language and your display preferences.

To delete them, you have two options:

Clear the app’s data: Android Settings > Apps > Paper Academy Glossary > Storage > Clear storage.

Uninstall the app, which removes all of these items.

Neither of these actions affects the data stored on our servers: for that data, the email request described above is still required.

Consequences of deletion

Deletion is permanent and your data cannot be restored. The app remains usable: the next time you open it, the access form will be displayed again and a new ID will be assigned to you if you fill it in.

Your other rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you also have the right of access, rectification, restriction and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr). These requests should be sent to the same address: contact@paper-academy.com.
